Peperomias like to be watered once the top 1-2 inches of their soil has dried out, usually about every other week. They don't like to be overwatered, so when in doubt, skip the water until next week!
These plants like lots of bright indirect light (think 2-3 feet from a sunny window) but will adjust to most light situations. If your plant gets lots of sun they may need to be watered more often, so keep an eye on it for the first few weeks in your home before you set up your watering schedule.
The peperomia family is huge and comes in lots of shapes and sizes. Most are very easy to care for and are a great option for new plant people!
Peperomias are non-toxic, so no worries!
